The Journal won't say it, but I (and I'm sure many others will): it's not unclear what prompted the new pricing structure on iTunes. The labels wanted the new pricing structure to balance out the request for DRM-less music.

What a fascinating idea. It's funded by using the reading excerpt sent to your email each day as a targeted email advertisement. Very smart.
