As a father of two girls, I unfortunately don’t find this to be funny. I worry that they will someday stop listening to me when I tell them they are beautiful or pretty and they will end up feeling like this.
(Their future boyfriends/spouses are already in trouble. They just don’t know it yet.)

Nicely put, Ryan. More dads need to stand up for their daughters like this! Your girls are lucky to have someone in their corner this way. It’s a tough haul out here – for any of us (M or F) that aren’t models – keeping self-esteem in tact in spite of it all. Just keep telling them, and showing them, how they’re beautiful, no matter what, and helping them know deep down that inner beauty and confidence ultimately trump great cheekbones and a perfect complexion (and they last longer, too).
I completely agree with the above comment… the fact that you’ve even recognised it means your daughters are already a step ahead of alot of other girls!
