Is this awesome? I'm not entirely sure this is awesome, but it has at least some of the components that go into something that's awesome.

This is a great addition to Get Satisfaction that UserVoice already had. It's good that they're paying attention, but the main weakness of GS is that you have to redirect people to the Get Satisfaction interface and theme, which quite frankly doesn't mesh with many Web sites. And the Help Center app isn't as fully-featured, unfortunately.

Check the OSX benchmarking numbers below. The CPU usage is why you'll never see Flash on the iPhone, and one of the reasons I specifically avoid using Flash as much as possible in web development.

"Managers manage a process…"
“Managers manage a process they’ve seen before, and they react to the outside world, striving to make that process as fast and as cheap as possible.
Leadership, on the other hand, is about creating change that you believe in… leaders have followers. Managers have employees.
Managers make widgets. Leaders make change.
Change? Change is frightening, and to many people who would be leaders, it seems more of a threat than a promise. That’s too bad, because the future belongs to our leaders, regardless of where they work or what they do.”–Seth Godin: Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us
To Borrow a Question from Roger Waters, Is There Anybody Out There?
I was taking a pace through my blog settings and realized that at some point I had closed comments to only registered users.
I had not meant for that to happen and it certainly isn’t my preference, so I’ve gone ahead and opened comments up. Now, you must have one approved comment to the credit of your email address and the system will allow you to comment whenever.
So I ask the question: who’s reading? Please step forward and identify yourself. Link to your own site if you would like; if there’s a person or two I don’t know who is reading on a regular basis, then I wouldn’t mind taking a look at your site in turn.
I’m interested in hearing from you!

This is a company that gave me the only shot at a job I could find during a pretty dark year of weirdness—and through that opportunity helped me to become a better leader. It's too bad, but when you worked there, you could tell that the whole company was simply playing catch-up almost all the time. Poor corporate leadership, irritating hiring and promotion practices, the specter of once having been commission-based, and a general lack of morale seem to add up to bankruptcy.

A template for a completely non-legally-binding agreement between friends before discussing an awesome idea. Not quite an NDA, not quite a free discussion, but an understanding that's needed while someone runs an idea past other people to check for idiocy.

Great article on why both publishers and commenters should be taking more advantage of the Gravatar service. I should also add that it would be nice if more publishing platforms would likewise support the service. There's no charge to the developer or publisher.
