Lumbar Is Where It’s At

I would just like to share that I just received a new desk chair from our buliding services guys and it feels wonderful.
Actual back support is highly underrated.

“intuition challenged”

Well, I’ve certainly had my intuition challenged with this job I’ve been interviewing for.
The second interview, as I mentioned before, was all right - not the best I could have offered, but that was mostly determined by the subject material and my ability to defend myself in front of two complete strangers.
So I called in [...]

“It snowed overnight”

Hey! It snowed overnight!
And there’s still some on the ground!
That ought to make my morning commute fantastic.

“checking out the QuickTime stream”

We’re up here (actually, down here, because it’s in a basement) in Information Services, waiting for the streaming video to arrive concerning the selection of the new president of the seminary. Right now, all we can see is a podium, which is not all that uninteresting in and of itself, but we’re all too [...]

New digs!

And behold - the DNS changeover has occurred.
I’ve switched hosts in the past week and a half - since I wasn’t getting a great deal with United Hosting, and I found a great deal on all sorts of space and good features with VizaWeb. By now, you should be fully receiving the domainset, as [...]

Only a few more assignments to go.

I’ll be getting to that Slashdot post soon, as I only have a few more major assignments left to go before I’m done for the quarter.
But Halo 2 comes out tonight, so you never know…

I’ll get back to it this weekend.

Just wanted to make sure that anyone who cares about the Slashdot article below should know that I got homework sidetracked, and it will be finished as soon as I can snag a few minues of free time. It’s pretty time-consuming, and I have a lot of schoolwork to finish in the next week [...]

Problem with information flow.

Logistics are a bit of a challenge for us here at CSL.
There’s a registration flow going on here - there’s a desk at the door where you turn in your verification form, and then you register for your classes. Then, you are led around the room, from table to table, signing up for extracurricular [...]

At registration.

I’m working a registration table today for IS here on campus.
The homeschoolers have just moved into the slot next to me, and they keep asking me to move my things. They brought more materials than any other group here, except maybe the Historical Institute.
I hate homeschoolers. They’re irritating.

Best. Auction. Ever.

Ebay Auction #3815314978
Words cannot properly express how cool this is.
I’d never buy it, but I’m amazed, impressed, and shocked all at once that someone would expend the time to do this on their own.

WordPress/ecto

I just got an e-mail back from the WordPress team (wow, was that fast!) confirming that there’s a break with ecto’s compatibility, and that they will be checking it out in the nightly builds to see what’s caused it. Good thing - I thought I was just insane, because I couldn’t find any reports [...]

Repeating the post, since no one subscribed….

Well, I’ve decided that LiveJournal really doesn’t offer me what I would like as far as features and ease of use (or extensibility, for that matter), so what I’m going to do is move my journal over to Movable Type. Since I have my own webspace and it’s fairly easy to set up and use, [...]

Holocron’s State of the Game for SWG - 25 Sep

Holocron made an update to the SWG forums this afternoon, detailing the current state of Galaxies. Here’s what he had to say:
A few weeks ago I posted stating that we were working on improving the community relations aspect of SWG, and also working on several other fronts to try to make the game better [...]

Latest SWG Patch Update Notes

This is the first attempt by yours truly to follow Star Wars Galaxies and the updates for that game by offering some commentary on the patch update notes. This time around, I’ll place commentary in extended entry. If this is successful, I will likely branch this off into another MT-style blog, but here [...]

website changes

I’m playing around with a new forum software that is wicked cool - you can hit my link up above and be magically transported to my little world.
(btw, it’s still ugly because I’m lazy)

The Matrix Reloaded (long post, methinks)

Well, since I have been somewhat uncharacteristcally quiet recently, and since I’ve been thinking about it it a whole lot since last night, I figured I’d weigh in with some Matrix Reloaded infodump while I’m sitting at work and have nothing else better to do.
Overview of my opinion:
THE GOOD
* Fight choreo was UNBELIEVABLE.
* Casting was [...]

interesting article

Found that to be somewhat enlightening this morning. I figure it’s at least something that’s not the norm in what you hear about the current war.
Disappointing to know that Saddam’s boys are dug in like ticks in the southern cities, but I’m still hoping this all goes down quickly and smoothly as possible.

spare me the rampant anti-war rhetoric

I’m getting really tired of hearing everybody and their cousin talk about this Iraqi war with disdain and anger.
I have four friends of mine over there - four Marines - and I know they are doing their job and doing it well. They’re fighting to save lives - and I thoroughly believe that, no [...]
