“checking out the QuickTime stream”

We’re up here (actually, down here, because it’s in a basement) in Information Services, waiting for the streaming video to arrive concerning the selection of the new president of the seminary. Right now, all we can see is a podium, which is not all that uninteresting in and of itself, but we’re all too lazy to walk down to Werner Auditorium to see this thing go down, and besides, we will get paid for sitting down here and checking out the QuickTime stream.

(We’re “watching it for problems.”)

Dale Meyer, the current Interim President, has been selected as the newest president of Concordia Seminary, and based on my conversations with people in the past few days, I believe he is the appropriate choice by far. (Russ is also blogging this on the desk next to me, of course. I can only imagine that friends’ blogs will be awash with this data very soon).

Good choice. People know him, he’s a friend to students and to patrons alike, and he can certainly bring in the money, all the while having a good understanding of theology and what it means to be a Lutheran institution and all that entails.

Good choice. Hope he takes the call.
