A rare holiday post!
(Heck, any post is rare at this point.)
I would just like to tell people who read regularly that I am going to be experimenting with only allowing registered users to access the blog in the near future. I’m not sure how this is going to work, but I may give it a shot just to see.
What I may do instead is to add a random letter/number/image scramble to the comment fields so that comment bots can’t slam the site. I’m currently receiving around 20-50 of these comment spam hits a day, and I’m not happy with the moderation queue or the e-mail influx. It’s making it harder to filter out everything (like I don’t get enough of it already).
Let me know what you think of this.
Please, don’t register unless I say something about doing so; I’m not sure how that works (actually, Ken, if you’d like to, why don’t you go ahead and give it a shot?).
