Logistics are a bit of a challenge for us here at CSL.
There’s a registration flow going on here - there’s a desk at the door where you turn in your verification form, and then you register for your classes. Then, you are led around the room, from table to table, signing up for extracurricular things and providing your information to other on-campus services and groups.
I’m in the line of the second phase, and we have two laptops set up here for people to enter their information to register their computers, and to order their MS Campus Agreement software copies.
The problem is that our system relies on the student’s ID number, which is no longer their SS# (it still should be, if you ask me). We ask for this number for everything we do. It’s important.
The student ID number is written on the verification sheet that they turn in first thing. They don’t have it by the time they reach my table. They consequently can’t do anything with IS by the time they get here, and the table is ending up to be kind of a waste.
