Had some audio dropout issues with the Samsung SIR-T351, which are actually, as I found later, somewhat well documented and have been for some time.
They didn’t have another, so I just got my money back and will continue to look for other opportunities.
Amanda and I are going to go out today and take a look at a Sony 34XBR960, which is the current frontrunner in my personal race for which television is going to be mine in the near future. And maybe taking back the tuner was a stroke of divine intervention, because the 960 has a built-in HD tuner, and a slot for a CableCARD, which is something I’m interested in having.
It can also tune digital cable signals without a STB, which is an added benefit.
I’ve been pretty bummed that I’m back to good old analog reception, which is not the best, but I’m currently negotiating with Amanda to see what kind of options we can look into for buying the new television set.
