One added news item of weird interest: a group at Roger Williams University in Rhode Island is trying to raise awareness of racism by offering a scholarship only available to whites.
I don’t know how many times I’ve joked about this, but someone went and actually did it - I’m thrilled and amused at the same time. It’s like the story I remember being linked at from InstaPundit (recommended political/social reading) where the guy comes to the U.S. from Kenya to study here, marks down “African” as his racial descent on his application, and goes in to meet he admissions counselor - and the student-applicant is a white. I wish I could find that story now…
I have an Education board meeting tonight, which is always one of my least-favorite activities - it’s right before I teach confirmation, which means that my evening is pretty much shot. And we never really talk about anything that overly affects me or involves me in any serious way. However, it is a good thing that I don’t have to attend the call meeting that’s going on tonight - I wouldn’t want to be in that room when I actually speak my mind, so it’s a good thing that I won’t be there to hear myself.
I have to get my VBS orders in and write up an acolyte schedule yet (another one of my favorite activities - I always miss someone and have to re-type it).
