server is apparently up again

Well, you know something was up when you check your provider’s uptime clocks and you see your cluster is at something on the order of seventeen minutes. They did kernel updates today, apparently, so it involved some shutdown time.

Since the majority of their customers are UK-based, that means that it tends to happen right in prime time for me.

Like I said before, though - it’s not like I’m trying to stave off legions of devoted fans who read my mail, kick my dog, and knock on my windows at all hours of the day. So the three of you who keep track of this are just going to have to be patient when this kind of random thing occurs.

I added a gaggle of links over on the left today, and will likely throw in some more later tonight when I get bored of playing my quota of Dark Age, but that depends on how tired I get, of course - and how much Dark Age constitutes my quota, since I’m trying to cram in a whole bunch of playtime before I move and am sent back to the fiery dungeons of dial-up, only to emerge when Time Warner gets their lazy clowns into my house and hooks up my cable connection.

And with that, I’m off to get the number I need to call for a work order…
