a day late on the friday five

I have Hazel to thank for cluing me in on the wonderfulness that is the Friday Five, which you can also syndicate here - it’s basically just a list of five questions, posted on a Friday (natch), for you to answer to try and keep you blogging at least once a week.

Off topic: you think we could come up with a word that is just as easily used, but doesn’t sound as dumb as ‘blog?’ I’ve never really liked the word, myself - not nothing approaches its ease of use, four-letter spelling (saves on keystrokes), and one-syllable pronounciation.

1. What time do you wake up on weekday mornings?
I’m usually up somewhere between 6 and 7 (it floats) - primarily because that’s about when Joshua wakes up and wants to be fed in the morning. When I was working on a regular basis and on a regular schedule (along with school), I was getting up at 0610 every day.

2. Do you sleep in on the weekends? How late?
I used to, but I don’t anymore - because of Joshua. I normally wouldn’t sleep in entirely too late (maybe 9 or 10), mostly because I always had something constructive I could be doing.

3. Aside from waking up, what is the first thing you do in the morning?
Utilize the facilities. Then I change Joshua and help feed him; after that, my routine varies wildly.

4. How long does it take to get ready for your day?
If I’m showering in the morning (which is a likely possibility; I don’t often shower at night), I can take up to 45 minutes, because I take extremely long showers - sometimes up to 30 minutes. Dressing doesn’t take me very long, though - I’m pretty quick about selecting clothes and throwing them on.

5. When possible, what is your favorite place to go for breakfast?
Any place that serves biscuits and gravy. Country-fried steak isn’t a negative influence, either. And if the place serves sweetened tea, I am all over it. I’m a southern boy when it comes to food.
